How to get to Malaga by plane.

Málaga Airport (IATA: AGP) also known as Pablo Ruiz Picasso Airport, is a large airport in Spain. It is an international airport and serves the area of Mediterranean, Malaga Province and Costa del Sol, Spain. Málaga Airport has non-stop passenger flights scheduled to 148 destinations in 34 countries.
Malaga airport is near to the city centre (20 min in the train) and very well communicated with the center of the city by bus, train or car.

If you´re in another city in Spain you can take plane, bus or train. For example you can find good prices from Madrid or Barcelona with just 1 month in advance but maybe the train is the best option in most cases.
How to get to Malaga by train. Train services.
The arrival of the AVE to Malaga was a jump of quality and an immediate impact in the tourism, because it allows to be communicated with the main points of the country in a few hours. From Madrid it offers the best value for money, because although the travel by car is cheaper, the comfort of the AVE is unrivaled.
From Barcelona, the airplane alternative is better and faster.
María Zambrano Train Station.
The María Zambrano station is a 10 minute walk from the city center, making it a perfect point of arrival. The only drawback is the high price of the tickets, so you have to be very attentive to the promotions and offers available on the Renfe website (*).

- Madrid – Málaga: 2 h. 20 min. (AVE).
- Barcelona – Málaga: 6 h. (AVE).
- Sevilla – Málaga: 2h. (AVANT).
- Valencia – Málaga: 4h. 30 min. (AVE)
(*) As a general rule, train tickets go on sale 62 days in advance, so if we want any offer we must control these margins. In special periods: summer, holy week or Christmas, does not usually apply and go on sale when Renfe decides, without a fixed rule.
How to get to Malaga by bus.
Good choice for tight budgets. It has a wide connection with the main capitals (Seville, Granada, Cadiz) of Andalucía, the towns of the province and with other important cities like Madrid.
The bus station (located in Paseo de los Tilos) is located a few meters from the María Zambrano station and the Vialia shopping center.
How to get to Malaga by car.
A good option, especially if you are traveling in a group, maybe if you travel alone is not the best one. If you travel to Malaga for 1-2 days the car will not need it, for longer stays and for excursions can be interesting.
